Special Opening Night Film Event at the
Brand New De Anza Visual and Performing Arts Center!

Not all Israelis are computer scientists, entrepreneurs and military geniuses. Believe it or not, some are even sumo wrestlers — at least on the big screen — as you'll soon discover at a very special Opening Night Gala of the 19th annual Silicon Valley Jewish Film Festival (SVJFF) on October 9th, 2010 with the acclaimed film "A Matter of Size".

Festival Opening Night Film: A Matter of Size

A Matter of Size

"A Matter of Size" is a heartwarming story about weight-challenged Israelis who aspire to become sumo wrestlers. Along the way, they learn a lot about the sport and about themselves as well.

Sumo But that's not all ... enjoy "Byamba", the 3x world sumo wrestling champion will take on two challengers. The director of the USA Sumo Association will narrate so that you can follow the action. Byamba and the other wrestlers have agreed to meet people in the lobby during the break. Japanese food, drink and special demonstrations will also be featured.

This special Opening night film and other related festivities will take place at a brand new venue for the SVJFF — the De Anza College Visual and Performing Arts Center in Cupertino. You won't want to miss this very special event!
