Synopsis

Seldom discussed publicly in Israel are the challenges faced by Israeli Arabs who leave the exclusive confines of traditional Arab society to immerse themselves into Israeli society at large. Sayed Kashua, a controversial young Israeli Arab writer with a top-rated Hebrew language television comedy series, is constantly called upon to explain himself as an outsider to both sides of the ethnic divide, and is always scared. This up-close and personal film follows his complicated life over the course of seven years as he searches for a home for his family and explores the conflicted sense of identity that he experiences daily.
