This Israeli film starring Ronit Elkabetz and Dana Ivgy, is set in the seaside city of Jaffa, is one of the few places in Israel where Jews and Arabs live, uneasily, side-by-side. Mali dutifully works as the receptionist in her father's garage, and is involved in a secret love affair with Toufik, a hardworking Arab mechanic. While the couple makes plans to elope, a violent clash between Toufik and Mali's hotheaded brother Meir triggers life-changing events for all.
