As with any religion into which they may have been born and raised, people leave ultra-Orthodox Judaism and their families for a variety of reasons, trading the security and controlled routine of a tight-knit, closed society for a world of unfamiliar choices and challenges. This film interviews five young people in Israel and North America who explain their individual reasons for having departed a Chassidic or haredi lifestyle to become secular.
