Synopsis
How did Blues and rock and roll enter the mainstream? Philip and Leonard Chess, tough Jewish immigrants from Poland, brought the Blues sound onto the national stage, including Blues greats Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley and Etta James. A must-see for any fan of blues and rock and roll, this film features authentic musical performances and a hit-filled score while telling the story of two brothers who played a key role in the emergence of the Blues as a mainstay of popular American music. Parental note: Adult language and adult situations SPECIAL OPENING NIGHT EVENT A rockin' Blues concert, a special reception, the "Who Do You Love" movie, a tribute to our founders, Fagie Rosen and Burt Epstein, and long-time supporters, Gloria and Ken Levy, in honor of the Film Festival's 20th year, and a surprise guest are part of what's in store for you at the 2011 special opening night event.
