Synopsis
From the 1930's through the early 1950's, the now almost-forgotten Gertrude Berg, was the doyenne of American radio and later television as well. Her unabashedly Jewish character, matriarch Molly Goldberg of the Bronx, was endearing to Americans of every ethnic origin, primarily because she projected a love of family. The "Oprah before Oprah", she was also a shrewd, influential business person and a prolific script writer.
