God's Neighbors

Synopsis

A young religious Israeli studies Torah by day and serves by night as a member of a self-constituted vigilante group that enforces—sometimes violently—standards of modesty and respect for the Sabbath. The young man meets and slowly develops a relationship with a secular woman. While she grows to accept, and to some extent embrace, his religious devotion, he begins to question whether he can continue stalking the streets to impose his will on others.

Won Israeli Academy Award for best actor and best supporting actor.
